In an exceptional setting on the edge of the beautiful lagoon with incredibly colourful, well tended gardens and good food, this family run hotel suits many families. There are 21 simple rooms opening onto the gardens and 2 more comfortable suites with private gardens looking directly onto the lagoon.  The terraced grounds have a seawater pool by the beach looking across the lagoon, a dining terrace and a huge rubber tree to sit under in the shade. 

Accommodation: The 21 rooms all have en suite bathrooms, heating and are simply furnished, some can accommodate an extra bed and all rooms open onto the terraced gardens. In addition there are 2 suites overlooking the lagoon, with air conditioning and a small sitting room on the lagoon side, which are ideal for honeymooners since they have their own terraces and gardens, where meals may be served privately if desired. The rooms (rather than the suites) have no air conditioning but in the heat of the day, even in midsummer, temperatures are comfortable.

Location: Set on the edge of the lagoon just a few minutes walk from “Surfland”, which offers various water sports. 

Services and other points to note: Given its proximity to the shore, boating, fishing, kayaking and swimming are firm favourites. Nearby, “Surfland” offers various water sports, including surfing lessons and other activities for children and teenagers. Their boatman can take you across or down the lagoon to other lovely spots, to fish, or to bird watch: with up to 140 species recorded, it is a bird watcher’s paradise, especially in spring and autumn. There is a glass screen in front of the pool, both protecting sunbathers from the wind and allowing them to enjoy the view.

Meals: Spacious restaurant (with roaring fire in winter) which is the hub of the little hotel, serving healthy, hearty, food with a good choice including fresh seafood dishes.

Staff: The personable owner, Latif, and the waiters are great fun. There is a very helpful head waiter called Mohamed.
