Riad Norma is a luxurious riad, consistently rated highly by guests for food, rooms, staff and facilities. The riad is an oasis of calm and exquisite taste, featuring a large covered patio, a spacious roof terrace and, unusually, a beautiful exterior garden sheltered by the high walls with a plunge pool at its focus.

Accommodation: There are 8 stylish, beautifully furnished rooms or suites in 4 price bands ranging from 9 sq m - 50 sq m in size. The rooms are:

  • Mini Suites: Mimi (single) and Carmen (twin), the rooms and bathroom are independently accessed by stairs and may be let together; a new twin/double mini suite (21 sq m).
  • Junior Suites: 2 on ground floor, and 1 on first floor: Aida (double), Manon (twin/double) Lucia (twin/double)
  • Royal Suites: Tosca & Norma (both double) on the first floor.

Location: Set on the southern edge of the medina, it is easy to find in a quiet street in the Ziat area with direct access by car . On foot it is about 5 minutes from the Batha Museum, about 10 minutes to main shopping streets and 15 minutes to the main attractions.

Services and other points to note: There is Internet access, a lounge, a restaurant, a library and a hammam. Classical music is often to be heard here. It is rare in having an exterior garden as well as the patio garden, making the property unusually light and spacious. Children under 12 are not accepted. Riad is closed from 13-22 July 2010.

Meals: Breakfast is included.  Evening meals are excellent, Moroccan with French influence, and are prepared to order.

Staff: Very warm welcome from the owner, Monique, and the manager, Abdul, and the resident cat.
