Renovated in 2004 in colonial style, this luxury hotel has a rooftop swimming pool with fabulous view across medina and harbour, it has a choice of room styles and a wide range of additional facilities including a renowned spa and a heated swimming pool. Its position on the extreme fringe of the medina allows guests easy access to transport, souks, the beach and port.

Accommodation: All 16 rooms and 19 suites have open fireplaces, private lounge areas, TV, CD player, heating, air conditioning, internet access, dressing gowns, slippers and artisan gifts. There are 3 room types:

Classical Rooms: decorated in an African colonial style, a spacious ( 27sq m), with king-size double or twin beds, marble bathrooms, large Italian showers, a desk, and open onto a balcony around the courtyard.

Junior Suites: decorated in an African colonial or Oriental style, these very spacious (45 sq m) rooms have king-size double or twin beds, space for an extra bed, marble bathrooms, large Italian showers, bath and desk bath. They open onto a balcony around the courtyard which overlooks the square or the medina.

Suites: decorated in an African colonial, English, Portuguese or Oriental style, these rooms are extremely spacious (60 sq m) with king-size double or twin beds, marble bathrooms, large Italian showers, a bath, sitting room area and space for up to 2 extra beds.

Location: Just inside the easterly gate to the medina, Bab Marrakech, close to the souks and only a few minutes from the beach, and, very unusual in the medina, a taxi can almost park at the door.

Services and other points to note: Amusements include a small cinema, games room with billiards, a library, a hammam, a solarium and a wide range of spa and massage treatments.

Meals: Fine restaurant featuring French cuisine with Moroccan flavours, seafood specialities and good wines. Includes breakfast offering a superb choice of dishes from a buffet, usually served in the plant filled courtyard.
